Smart Locks

A smart lock is a key-free replacement for traditional door locks. Once installed, smart locks connect to Bluetooth or your home’s wi-fi network. Simply set your code, download the lock’s app and type in the access code on your smartphone when in range.

In a Smart home, smart locks allow a homeowner to enter their home or provide others access without requiring a traditional key. Instead, the user uses their smartphone or a key fob to wirelessly verify and mechanically unlock the door. If your home is equipped with a video doorbell, you can also grant entry to unexpected visitors you can visually vet through real-time video chat.

Many smart lock systems use mobile apps or websites to allow homeowners to grant access to third parties

Adding a key option or a numerical keypad, can be a comforting option to the tech-suspicious.

How a smart lock integrated into your home helps make life easier

Know who’s coming or going.

On top of regulating access, many smart locks log access, providing the means to monitor use of a given secured door. Some smart locks feature a camera, which provides a picture of those accessing the door and makes for an easily referenced photo log. Your system keeps a log of which code was used and when, so you know exactly who is coming and going. You can also receive notifications on your smartphone when a code is used.

Keep your packages safe. If you do online shopping, you can see when your delivery driver arrives, then unlock the smart lock on your front door and use the camera’s two-way talk feature to ask him or her to put your package inside—all from your phone.

Create guest codes for visitors. You can just make a temporary access code for your guests so they can come and go as they please. Then, when they leave, you can delete the code.

Create custom rules. You can also create custom rules such as locking doors automatically after a certain amount of time, or arming your security system and turning off your lights when you lock your front door.
